Molfetta, is an important port city with over 61,000 inhabitants, located in Puglia, along the Adriatic coast, 25 km to the north of Bari. The city’s economy is primarily based on the food industry, fisheries, construction materials and shipbuilding. Molfetta has grown into the largest port in Puglia and now has a quay for cruise ships sailing from and to Eastern Europe.
Due to its location, the shopping center is very attractive for the inhabitants of the southern province of the Bari region; from Barletta to Bari.
The opening of the Gran Shopping Mongolfiera has introduced Puglia to a modern and new style of shopping centers in Italy. The shopping center, with 109 shops and a hypermarket, is distributed across a single level comprising approximately 35,000 m2 and has 2,300 parking places that are directly connected to the shopping center’s three entrances.
The atmosphere of the beautiful, historical center of Molfetta is perfectly reflected in the Gran Shopping Mongolfiera. The Gran Shopping Mongolfiera’s architecture stands out due to its pronounced nautical theme and has a compact shopping route consisting of three galleries with shops on either side. The hypermarket is located in one of these galleries. In addition, there are three spacious squares. One of these squares is dedicated to a food court and the large central square at the main entrance can be used for events and fashion shows.
The agreeable living room atmosphere ensures that visitors stay longer in the shopping center and sit down in the covered squares as a result of which the center has become an important meeting place in Molfetta.
