Teramo, located at the foot of the Gran Sasso mountain is a city with a rich history and beautiful nature.
The Gran Sasso shopping center is a modern covered center along the A24 motorway that connects Rome with the Adriatic coast. Foruminvest Italia redeveloped the site (Piano d’Accio) to create a shopping center (30,000 m2) and a football stadium with approximately 9,000 seats that can also be used for concerts, sports events and other events.
The University of Teramo is currently building 1,000 student residences on the site adjacent to the shopping center. Teramo’s shopping center has a service area with approximately 265,000 inhabitants.
The single level shopping center is located opposite the Gran Sasso mountain and fits perfectly into the existing architecture and its surroundings. The 80 shops, including five anchors, a supermarket, a DYI, a food court and an inside/outside terrace are located on the ground floor. The shopping center furthermore has approximately 1,850 parking places distributed across ground-level and a modern underground parking garage.
On the basis of this development Teramo has not only become a city where people can do their daily shopping, it now also has an extensive retail area with a wide variety of shops. This has safeguarded the city’s appeal for the coming decades.
